Salary: Grade 8: £49,119–£58,265 per annum (pro rata if part-time)
Contract: Full-time (part-time considered)
The University of Oxford is seeking an experienced communications specialist to lead the Communications team supporting its growing digital and information services portfolio. This is a strategic role working with leaders and subject-matter experts across IT services, information security, research computing, data services, and digital governance to engage staff and students with the University’s ambitious digital agenda.

The University’s digital and information services teams work collaboratively under the Chief Digital & Information Officer (CDIO) to deliver the digital priorities set out in the University’s Strategic Plan.
About the Role
You will develop and deliver strategic, audience-focused communications plans and oversee high-quality content and engagement across multiple channels. Working closely with a Project Communications Manager and reporting to the Head of Communications (Digital & IT), you will lead communications activity that promotes digital services, supports organisational change, and strengthens engagement across the University.
The role includes responsibility for online and in-person events of varying scale and offers the opportunity to make a visible impact in a complex, high-profile, and intellectually stimulating environment.
This is a full-time post, although part-time working will be considered. Hybrid working is available, with a minimum of two days per week on site at Dartington House in Oxford.
About You
You will have substantial experience managing communications and events within a large, complex organisation, alongside excellent writing, editorial, and stakeholder-management skills. You will be confident translating complex technical information into clear, engaging communications and able to manage competing priorities in a fast-paced environment.
Experience of leading, motivating, and developing a communications team is essential.
