About the Role
We are seeking an exceptional Senior Prospect Research Officer to join the Department of Development and Alumni Engagement (DDAE). Recently named the UK’s top university for social mobility, we are leading the way in inclusivity among Russel Group universities: of our London undergraduate students, over 92% are from state schools; 75% are BAME; and 49% are the first in their families to go to university. The role of Senior Prospect Research Officer plays a vital role in supporting donor acquisition, providing donor insight, and undertaking due diligence on behalf of DDAE and for colleagues in the wider organisation.
Job purpose
This post plays a central role in developing a strong prospect pipeline, supporting the team to fulfil the ambitious fundraising aims of Queen Mary University of London, growing our capacity to support the fundraising priorities of the institution.
The post holder will provide strategic support to the Development team by identifying new business leads, and providing in depth profiles and due diligence research in support of the cultivation of philanthropic relationships with individuals (alumni and non-alumni), trusts and foundations, and corporations to help secure major gifts towards the work of the university. The Senior Prospect Research Officer will provide due diligence in relation to prospective donors, support ethical gift acceptance, and play a key role in the effective management of the major giving pipeline.
