Systems Engineer

Location: Leominster (3 days on site)

Our client, a leading technology organisation, is seeking a Systems Engineer to act as the bridge between customers, technical teams, and software development. This role combines systems analysis, ERP configuration, stakeholder engagement, and technical support, ensuring clients maximise the value of their ERP platform.

You’ll work closely with customers to understand business processes, recommend system improvements, configure solutions, and collaborate with development teams to deliver enhancements. This is an excellent opportunity for someone who enjoys both customer interaction and technical problem-solving.

What you’ll do

• Work directly with clients to understand business requirements, processes, and operational challenges.
• Analyse ERP system usage and recommend configuration changes to improve efficiency and user experience.
• Gather and document functional and technical requirements for new features, enhancements, and integrations.
• Act as the liaison between customers and the development team, translating business needs into technical specifications.
• Support ERP implementations, upgrades, and configuration changes.
• Assist with testing and validation of system enhancements before release.
• Provide second-line technical and application support to customers, troubleshooting issues and identifying root causes.
• Create and maintain system documentation, configuration guides, and process documentation.
• Support user training and knowledge transfer activities where required.
• Work with internal stakeholders to ensure projects and customer requests are delivered successfully.

What we’re looking for

• Experience working with ERP systems in a technical, functional, or support capacity.
• Strong ability to gather requirements and translate business needs into system solutions.
• Experience configuring business applications or enterprise software platforms.
• Understanding of software development lifecycles and working alongside development teams.
• Strong troubleshooting and problem-solving skills.
• Excellent communication skills with the ability to engage both technical and non-technical stakeholders.
• Experience producing functional specifications, process maps, or technical documentation.
• Customer-focused approach with a consultative mindset.
• Ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment.

Desirable

• Experience supporting ERP implementations or system migrations.
• Understanding of databases, SQL, APIs, or system integrations.
• Exposure to Agile delivery methodologies.
• Experience working in SaaS or software development environments.
