Description

Key Duties:

• Prepare and review financial statements, ensuring compliance with relevant regulations and standards.
• Manage a portfolio of clients, providing tailored accounting and financial advice.
• Oversee bookkeeping and VAT return processes for clients.
• Assist with tax computations and submissions to HMRC.
• Provide support for audits and liaise with external auditors as required.
• Supervise junior team members and provide guidance on technical matters.
• Identify opportunities to enhance client service and recommend improvements.
• Maintain up-to-date knowledge of accounting standards and industry regulations.

Profile

• ACA or ACCA qualified, with a strong foundation developed within a UK practice environment
• Proven experience delivering high-quality accounts preparation and tax compliance across a varied client base
• Comfortable working with more complex structures, including multi-entity and group arrangements
• Confident in a client-facing capacity, with the ability to build credible and lasting relationships
• Highly organised with strong attention to detail, able to manage competing deadlines effectively
• Capable of working with pace and accuracy in a dynamic, delivery-focused environment
• Professional communicator with a clear, concise, and client facing practice
• Proactive and commercially aware, with the confidence to contribute ideas and drive continuous improvement
• Collaborative in approach, contributing positively to a high-performing team culture

Desirable Experience:

• Experience supporting or mentoring junior team members and contributing to their development
• Confident reviewing work prepared by others and providing constructive, technical feedback
• Familiarity with cloud-based accounting platforms such as Xero, QuickBooks, or similar systems
• Strong commercial awareness, with the ability to identify client needs and opportunities to add value
• An interest in shaping processes, improving systems, and contributing to the ongoing development of the practice
