We’re looking for an experienced Senior HV Cable System Design Engineer to join a leading engineering team delivering major transmission-scale onshore and offshore projects across the UK.

This is a senior technical role with real influence across the full project lifecycle — from FEED and concept design through to detailed design, installation support, and commissioning.

You’ll also play a key role in mentoring engineers, supporting technical delivery, and contributing to bids and client engagement activities, helping shape future HV cable capability growth.

What you’ll be doing:

• Leading HV cable system design for major transmission projects
• Delivering FEED and detailed design for onshore/offshore cable systems
• Producing cable studies, routing layouts, and installation design
• Supporting installation, testing, and commissioning activities
• Working closely with multidisciplinary teams (civil, primary, secondary, PM)
• Engaging with clients and supporting technical proposals and bids
• Mentoring junior engineers and supporting capability development
• Coordinating with suppliers, OEMs, and subcontractors

What we’re looking for:

• Degree in Electrical Engineering (or equivalent)
• Strong background in HV / EHV cable system design
• Experience across design, installation, testing, and commissioning
• Familiarity with utility standards (e.g. National Grid, SPEN, SSEN or equivalent)
• Experience delivering FEED and detailed design packages
• Strong communication and client‐facing skills
• Interest in supporting bids, proposals, and business growth
• Willingness to travel for site visits when required
