We are currently seeking a talented and motivated IT Support Specialist to join our Birmingham team. This is an exciting opportunity for a tech-driven professional who enjoys troubleshooting, supporting users, and working in a fast-paced, modern workplace.
The Role
As an IT Support Specialist, you will provide day-to-day technical support across the organisation, ensuring the smooth operation of hardware, software, and network systems. You will work closely with employees and management to resolve IT issues efficiently while contributing to ongoing system improvements and technology initiatives.
The ideal candidate is customer-focused, technically skilled, and capable of managing multiple support tasks with professionalism and attention to detail.
Key Responsibilities
- Provide first-line and second-line technical support to internal users
- Troubleshoot hardware, software, system, and network-related issues
- Install, configure, and maintain desktops, laptops, printers, and business applications
- Support Microsoft 365, cloud-based tools, and communication platforms
- Respond to support requests and maintain accurate ticket records
- Monitor IT systems and assist with routine maintenance and upgrades
- Maintain IT documentation, user accounts, and asset inventories
- Assist with onboarding and setup for new employees
- Support cybersecurity best practices and data protection procedures
- Coordinate with external IT vendors and service providers when required
Requirements
- Previous experience in IT support, technical support, or helpdesk roles
- Strong troubleshooting and analytical problem-solving skills
- Knowledge of Windows operating systems, Microsoft 365, and networking fundamentals
- Excellent communication and customer service skills
- Ability to prioritise workloads and manage multiple tasks effectively
- Strong organisational skills and attention to detail
- Experience with remote support tools and cloud technologies is advantageous
- Relevant IT certifications or technical qualifications are beneficial
