Reed Accountancy is recruiting on behalf of a well-established professional services organisation for an Accounts Assistant in Preston to join their finance team on a full-time permanent basis. This role offers an excellent opportunity for someone with accounts experience to work within a collaborative and supportive environment.

The position will suit a detail-oriented individual who enjoys working in a fast-paced setting while maintaining high standards of accuracy and professionalism.

Key Responsibilities

• Supporting daily banking processes, including transfers and reconciliations
• Processing electronic payments (e.g. BACS, CHAPS, Faster Payments)
• Assisting with bank and ledger reconciliations
• Posting and processing financial transactions across client and office accounts
• Supporting billing activities and maintaining accurate sales ledger records
• Allocating incoming payments and resolving any discrepancies
• Assisting with month-end and year-end financial processes
• Handling finance-related queries from internal and external stakeholders
• Maintaining accurate and up-to-date financial records
• Ensuring compliance with relevant financial procedures and regulations.

Skills Required:

• Experience using accounting or practice management systems
• Previous experience in an accounts or finance role
• Strong numerical and analytical skills
• High attention to detail with strong organisational abilities
• Good working knowledge of Microsoft Office and finance systems
