Whether onsite or officed based all colleagues have a key part to play in delivering this critical transport infrastructure project.Current Opportunity: Section EngineerLocation: Based in Birmingham – the Central Region runs from the east of Birmingham into the city centre, comprising Sublot Delta, 1B, 4 and 5S. More than 50% of the structures within IPT Area North are located in the Central Region. This region, which covers a complex urban environment, also includes the 3.5 mile twin bore Bromford Tunnel. It also includes Interchange Station, as well as crossing three major highways (A45, M6 and M42).Role Responsibilities:Allocate and supervise Site Engineers, ensuring accurate setting out, task completion, and coordination with Section Engineers/Foremen to manage clashes and maintain workflow.Manage quality and compliance by ensuring Inspection & Test Plans, Quality Check Sheets, method statements, and risk assessments are completed, approved, and followed.Oversee engineering and subcontractor requirements to ensure sections of work are delivered in line with the construction programme.Control and manage project documentation, including distribution of information and marking up design drawings to reflect completed works.Assess and plan plant, resource, and procedural requirements with the Section Foreman, regularly reviewing and improving procedures for efficiency.Essential Experience:Degree level qualification in a Civil Engineering allied subject or HND in Civil EngineeringMin of 3 years’ experience as Section EngineerRead and understand drawingsHave experience of working with Permit System and actively raises permits to workHave experience working in Earthworks, Roadworks, Structures or DrainageApplicants must have the right to work in the UK to be considered.Why Join Us:Flexible working optionsFree parking & travel allowance (where eligible)Family-friendly policiesExcellent pension & healthcareWellbeing support & flu vaccinationsAbout UsBalfour Beatty VINCI is a joint venture with over 30 years of experience delivering iconic infrastructure, including the Channel Tunnel, Crossrail, and upgrading some of the UK’s busiest motorways.
