Job role:

• Process, check, and record purchase ledger invoices
• Reconcile supplier statements to ledger balances
• Create purchase order releases (up to £5k) and support invoice approval workflow
• Prepare weekly payment runs and BACs files for authorisation
• Process BACs, CHAPS, and e-remit payments and remittance advices
• Process employee expense claims, ensuring correct coding and journal preparation
• Upload journals into SUN system
• Process procurement card (Barclaycard) transactions and monthly reconciliations
• Support daily bank reconciliations on rotation, including statement downloads
• Investigate and report discrepancies to the Finance Manager
• Ensure accurate reflection of bank balances
• Maintain supplier records including address and bank details
• Prepare and process vendor amendment forms
• Verify supplier bank detail changes directly with suppliers
• Prepare accruals and prepayments journals
• Complete balance sheet reconciliations (VAT, debtors, payroll-related accounts)
• Support production of accurate monthly accounts
• Raise sundry sales invoices (scrap, rentals, etc.) and manage collections
• Issue statements for overdue accounts and follow up as required
• Process cash receipts, banking, and associated journals
• Manage petty cash, ensuring proper records and reconciliation
• Respond to internal queries regarding cost codes and suppliers
• Maintain accurate filing systems for audit and retrieval
