Job Summary
We are seeking a highly organised, detail-oriented, and proactive Depot Technician to support and manage depot operations for our end clients. The successful candidate will be responsible for handling device inventory, processing work orders, managing shipping activities, and maintaining accurate asset records within the Asset Management system.
This role plays a critical part in ensuring the efficient operation of depot services, including inventory control, device processing, technical inspection, and logistics coordination, while maintaining high standards of accuracy, compliance, and customer service.
Key Responsibilities
Conduct regular stock counts and inventory audits, ensuring all records within the Asset Management system remain accurate and up to date.
Monitor inventory levels and report discrepancies, shortages, or damaged stock in a timely manner.
Process service tickets by picking, packing, and preparing devices for end-user delivery or shipment.
Receive, inspect, unload, and securely store incoming devices and warehouse goods.
Maintain depot cleanliness, organisation, and adherence to operational standards.
Ensure full compliance with all health and safety policies and procedures.
Diagnose, inspect, and verify reported hardware faults on returned devices.
Perform device clean-up, reimaging, configuration, and redeployment preparation where required.
Coordinate repair processes for reusable and redeployable equipment.
Follow IT security policies and operational procedures to maintain data protection and compliance standards.
Maintain accurate documentation of issues, resolutions, and activities within the ticketing system.
Support continuous improvement initiatives to enhance depot efficiency and operational performance.
Requirements
Previous experience within a warehouse, logistics, stock management, or depot environment.
Basic understanding of computer hardware, peripherals, and operating systems.
Strong organisational, analytical, and problem-solving skills.
Experience using inventory management systems and Microsoft Excel.
Familiarity with ticketing platforms such as ServiceNow or similar systems.
Excellent attention to detail with a high level of accuracy.
Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced environment while managing multiple priorities and meeting deadlines.
Strong communication skills with a customer-focused approach.
Ability to work independently as well as collaboratively within a remote or distributed team.
Reliable, punctual, and professional attitude.
Preferred Qualifications
CompTIA A+ certification or equivalent technical qualification.
Previous experience within IT support, device lifecycle management, or managed services environments.
Familiarity with device imaging and deployment processes.
