About the role:
As an IT Apprentice, you’ll play a key role in supporting the daily operations of BuildStore IT department. Working closely with the IT Manager, you’ll gain hands-on experience maintaining systems, resolving technical issues, and supporting ongoing IT projects. You’ll study towards a nationally recognised qualification while developing practical, workplace-ready skills.
Responsibilities
*Provide first-line technical support to internal users across the business.
*Assist with installing, configuring, and maintaining hardware, software, and network devices.
*Support the management of servers, cloud systems, and user access controls.
*Monitor and maintain IT systems performance, backups, and security.
*Log and document IT issues, resolutions, and system updates.
*Support IT improvement projects and technology rollouts.
*Help enforce data protection, cybersecurity, and compliance standards.
*Liaise with suppliers and external service providers when required.
*Deliver excellent internal customer service and clear communication.
*Manage and maintain the support ticket desk.
You will need the following skills:
*A genuine passion for technology and IT problem-solving.
*Strong communication and teamwork skills.
*Good organisation and attention to detail.
*Familiarity with Microsoft Office and Windows systems.
*Willingness to learn and develop technical skills.
Salary: £19,050 per annum.
Working hours: 30 hours per week, Monday to Thursday, 9am – 4:30pm, Friday 9am – 1pm.
