Senior Accountant Job at Colchester, Essex Full Time NEW

Salary – £30,000 – £40,000 depending on experience

Hours – Monday to Friday, 28-36 hours per week with flexible, hybrid working

Holiday – 22 days annual leave (excluding bank holidays)

About the Senior Accountant role

We have an exciting opportunity for a Senior Accountant to join our team in either the Colchester or Clacton-on-Sea office!

We are open to full-time candidates (36 hours per week) or part-time candidates (minimum of 28 hours per week over 4 days).

We are looking for candidates who are AAT/ACCA qualified or are qualified by experience and have a minimum of 5 years’ experience within a practice environment.

Key responsibilities of a Senior Accountant will include:

• Producing accounts for clients (limited companies, sold traders, partnerships, LLLPs, charities and groups)
• Acting as the primary point of contact for clients, building strong relationships and delivering a consistently high standard of service
• Managing your own workload to ensure assignments are completed accurately, on time and within budget
• Preparing and reviewing VAT returns and assisting with tax compliance where required
• Maintaining up-to-date knowledge of relevant accounting standards, tax regulations and industry developments
• Adopting a hands-on approach as needed to support the wider team and ensure deadlines are met

About you

We are looking for candidates with the following skills and experience:

• AAT/ACCA qualified or qualified by experience
• Minimum of 5 years’ experience in a practice environment
• Knowledge of tax, audit & payroll is advantageous
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills
• Strong experience with Microsoft Office, particularly Excel, Word, and Outlook
• Great attention to detail along with strong organisational skills
• Pro-active, self-starter, with a positive attitude
