Permanent / Full-time (part-time considered)The OpportunityOur client, a well established and growing accountancy practice, is seeking a Senior Manager to join their leadership team.This is a key role within the business, offering the opportunity to take ownership of a diverse client portfolio while leading technical delivery, improving processes and supporting the development of a high performing team.At the top end of the salary range, the client is seeking someone who is nearing Director level and capable of contributing to business growth, advisory development and wider strategic direction.This role would suit an experienced practice trained ACA/ACCA qualified accountant, with strong technical ability and proven client facing experience. UK accountancy practice experience is essential.Key ResponsibilitiesReview and sign off statutory accounts, tax computations and financial statementsOversee preparation of accounts under FRS 102 and FRS 105Provide technical advice on accounting, tax and structuring mattersReview management accounts, KPIs and financial performanceEnsure compliance with UK accounting and regulatory standardsManage a portfolio of clients as a key senior contactLead client meetings and present financial insights at senior levelOversee workflow, deadlines, billing, WIP and debtor managementManage, mentor, and develop managers, seniors and traineesSupport business development and client retention initiativesContribute to process improvement and operational efficiencyEnsure compliance with ISQM (UK) 1 and internal quality frameworksPrepare internal reporting and support strategic decision-makingRequirementsEssentialACA or ACCA qualified (or equivalent)Significant UK accountancy practice experienceStrong technical knowledge of accounts preparation, tax and complianceExperience reviewing statutory accounts and leading client portfoliosProven experience managing or mentoring teamsStrong client-facing and communication skillsHigh level of technical accounting knowledge (FRS 102 / FRS 105)Strong Excel and cloud accounting software experience (Xero / QuickBooks / Sage)Experience with accounts/tax software such as IRIS or equivalentDesirableExposure to advisory work, tax planning, or business strategyExperience with practice management systems (e.g. Karbon, AccountancyManager, SPS)Experience driving process improvement or contributing to firm growth initiativesAmbition to progress toward Director level responsibilitiesWhats on OfferSalary£45,000 – £55,000 per year depending on experience and qualificationsHigher end of the scale will reflect candidates operating at or near Director level with the ability to contribute to business growthBenefits29 days holidayClosed over Christmas periodCompany pension contributionHealth scheme (post probation) covering dental, optical and moreCycle to Work schemeRegular social events throughout the yearWorking Hours & FlexibilityFlexible working available for 36.25 hours per week between 8.30 am6 pm (with 30 minute break)Reduced hours / part-time candidates will be consideredHybrid / home working arrangements open to discussion depending on candidate suitabilityAbout YouA confident, commercially aware senior practice accountantStrong leader who enjoys developing teams and improving performanceTechnically strong with excellent attention to detailComfortable managing multiple clients and deadlinesProfessional, diplomatic, and confident in client facing situationsProactive, solutions-focused, and motivated by improvement and growthHow to Apply:For any questions ahead of applying, contact Lauren at Global Highland.
