Key job responsibilities
â˘As a Solutions Architect, you will work directly with customers to accelerate their projects and recommend best-practice architectures in line with their long-term business outcomes.
⢠You operate as a trusted advisor for startups. The best interests of the customer will shape the guidance you provide. You work backwards from their priorities and find inventive ways to add value with solutions utilizing AWS and its Partnersâ technology.
⢠You capture and share the voice of the customer to influence the roadmap of new features and services for AWS. You use your customer understanding to participate the creation or updates of technical content and reference architectures (e.g. white papers, code samples, blog posts).
⢠Evangelize and educate about AWS technology (e.g. workshops, user groups, meetups, public speaking, online videos or conferences).

A day in the life
The Solutions Architect team at AWS is responsible for helping customers successfully implement cloud technologies. In a typical week you will meet multiple customers and you will collaborate with them on designing and operating well-architected solutions. You will earn their trust and show them the art of the possible, educating them around the capabilities of AWS. Partnering with internal teams and experts, leveraging a deep knowledge of our tools and products, youâll craft highly-scalable, flexible, and resilient cloud architectures that address our customersâ business problems. The AWS Startup Solutions Architecture team is dedicated to working with startup companies as they build and scale their businesses. Weâre here to make sure that they can deploy the best, most scalable, and most secure architectures possible â and that they spend as little time and money as possible doing so. BASIC QUALIFICATIONS
– Experience within specific technology domain areas (e.g. software development, cloud computing, systems engineering, infrastructure, security, networking, data & analytics).
– Bachelor’s degree in computer science, engineering, mathematics or equivalent, or experience in technical engineering
– Speak, write, and read fluently in English
– Background in any of the following: Cloud Architecture, Systems Design, Software Development, Infrastructure Architecture, Data Engineering or DevOps
– A passion for technology and for learning
PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS
– Experience in customer-facing roles
– AWS certification, such as, AWS Solutions Architect, or a similar cloud certification
– Experience designing, building, refactoring or operating large scale and impactful IT systems – either on premises or in the cloud
– Knowledge of a modern programming language (Python, JavaScript, Go, .Net, Java, etc.) and/or scripting, Infrastructure as Code etc.
– In-depth working knowledge in a technology domain such as distributed internet-scale web or mobile applications, DevOps, Serverless, Big Data, Analytics, Machine Learning, enterprise workloads (SAP, VMware, Windows etc.), high-performance databases (SQL and/or NoSQL), complex networking implementations, highly secured workloads etc.
