Accounts Assistant (Contract)
Salary: £30,000 – £14 – £15 per hour
Location: Central Birmingham
Type: Rolling Contract
A great opportunity for an Accounts Assistant to join a busy finance team on a contract basis. This role focuses primarily on Accounts Payable, while also offering exposure to Accounts Receivable, General Ledger, and wider finance operations.
Key Responsibilities
- Process invoices, payments, and manage supplier queries
- Maintain purchase ledger and monitor outstanding purchase orders
- Review and process staff expense claims in line with policy
- Support credit control, including chasing outstanding payments
- Assist with bank reconciliations and cashbook maintenance
- Produce aged creditor/debtor reports
- Support VAT returns and provide wider finance team cover
- Help improve processes and ensure compliance across finance
About You
- Experience in a finance/Accounts Assistant role
- Strong attention to detail and organisational skills
- Confident dealing with stakeholders and resolving queries
- Proactive and able to support across multiple finance areas
