Duties

• Respond promptly to user enquiries via phone, email, or ticketing system, providing clear and effective technical assistance.
• Diagnose and resolve hardware, software, network, and peripheral device issues in a professional manner.
• Escalate complex problems to specialised teams when necessary, ensuring seamless communication throughout the resolution process.
• Document all support activities accurately within the ticketing system for future reference and reporting purposes.
• Assist with the setup, configuration, and deployment of new hardware and software for staff members.
• Maintain an up-to-date knowledge base of common issues and solutions to improve efficiency and service quality.
• Participate in ongoing training programmes to stay current with emerging technologies and support practices.

Qualifications

• Proven experience in IT support or a similar role is desirable.
• Strong understanding of Windows and hardware and telecomunications, as well as common enterprise applications.
• Familiarity with networking principles, including TCP/IP, VPNs, and wireless connectivity.
• Excellent problem-solving skills with the ability to diagnose issues efficiently.
• Strong communication skills, capable of explaining technical information clearly to non-technical users.
• Ability to work well under pressure in a fast-paced environment.
• Relevant certifications such as CompTIA A+ or Microsoft Certified Desktop Support Technician (MCSD) are advantageous but not essential.
• A proactive attitude towards learning and professional development is highly valued.

Pay: From £12.00 per hour
