A fantastic opportunity has arisen for an Assistant Financial Accountant to join a well-established and fast-paced FMCG business with a portfolio of leading household food brands across the UK.
This role is ideal for a part-qualified accountant or someone qualified by experience looking to further develop their career within a dynamic finance team.
The Role
Reporting to the Financial Accountant, you will support the finance function across a broad range of accounting and reconciliation activities, helping to ensure robust financial controls and accurate reporting.
Key Responsibilities
- Manage and reconcile bank accounts across multiple UK entities
- Reconcile intercompany accounts between divisions
- Complete stock reconciliations and investigate discrepancies
- Prepare monthly accruals and prepayments
- Process and reconcile central recharges
- Maintain Capex documentation and records
- Prepare balance sheet reconciliations and investigate variances
- Review and reconcile GRNI balances, including aged purchase orders
- Provide cashier cover including payment uploads and allocations
- Investigate and resolve internal accounting transaction issues
- Process company credit card journals and administration
- Support audits, forecasting, budgeting, and ad hoc finance projects
Key Accountabilities
- Balance sheet preparation and review support
- Monthly balance sheet analysis and compliance checks
- Monitoring central overheads and posting journals
- Supporting audit and SoX requirements
- Budget preparation and quarterly forecasting
- Bank reconciliations and cashier responsibilities
About You
- Part-qualified accountant or qualified by experience
- FMCG experience beneficial but not essential
- Knowledge of SoX and/or US accounting standards advantageous
- Strong interpersonal and organisational skills
- Self-motivated and proactive
- Advanced Microsoft Excel skills
